Most expecting parents will either have received numerous pacifiers at baby showers or new parent seminars, or have bought their own in preparation for the arrival of their new baby. By the time your baby comes home, you will most likely have several scattered around the house, in the nursery, in your diaper bag and purse, and in your car. Pacifiers are a quick and easy way to:
- help soothe a fussy baby
- distract your baby's attention
- help babies fall to sleep
However, as with most great things, there are some drawbacks. Here are a few of the disadvantages when using pacifiers:
- may interfere with breast-feeding if the pacifier is used too early
- the baby may become dependent on the pacifier
- may increase the risk of middle ear infections
- may lead to future dental problems
Read the article Pacifiers 101 - Tips and Tricks to help avoid some of the drawbacks listed above and to learn what you can do to make your baby's pacifier experience a happy and healthy one.

It seems there is a new phenomenon that is taking place in home bathrooms around the world. One that our mothers were not able to take part in. This huge movement gains speed with each appearance of a tiny little line. The tiny little line on a pregnancy test strip that says yes, you're pregnant! As more and more at-home pregnancy tests become the initial indication of successful conceptions, new mothers-to-be are opting to keep their positive pregnancy test strips as a keepsake of their joyous moment. This new trend is partially due to the ease and availability of over-the-counter pregnancy tests that can be done in the privacy of your own home and, not to mention, at your own convenience. The question is, would you keep your pregnancy test strip or would you discard it?
Many women safely store their positive (and sometimes negative) pregnancy strips in keepsake boxes while others gently place them on the first page of a newly purchased baby scrapbook. Although the results on the strip may fade over time, many women write the date they took the test on the strip to at least remember the day the news was delivered in case the results don't stand the test of time.
BabyBobbi.com wants to know if you would keep, or have kept, your pregnancy strips? If you have kept them, have the results withstood the test of time? Where do you keep them? Did you try to clean them or did you store them as they were for fear of "erasing" your results? Did you do anything special in efforts to preserve the result line (laminate the strip, etc)?
